Both Cacao CVS HEAD and Cacao 0.94 fail to build for me on x86 Linux (Fedora Core 4) with following fatal error at configure time: configure: error: cannot find ltdl.h
Created an attachment (id=9) config.log from failed Cacao 0.94 build config.log attached showing that compile test does not find ltdl.h
ltdl.h is on system as part of libtool package but not part of standard include search path: [psj@localhost build]$ rpm -ql libtool | grep ltdl.h /usr/share/libtool/libltdl/ltdl.h (Even then, should normal user build depend on having libtool installed?)
My apologies - ltdl support is now split into a separate libtool-ltdl package on Fedora Core which I had not installed. Installed and now Cacao CVS HEAD builds for me again. My apologies for the errorneous report. Would still be nice not to require libtool ltdl for build by the end user though (maybe by distributing ltdl in dist tarball - via libtoolize --ltdl or similar?) :-)
Well, we had libltdl merged into the CACAO tree before, but we decided to strip out all stuff of which we can use the system stuff too.
